Slurry of slush
Spring meltdown
On the glacial front
Flurries of rivulets
Disgorge themselves
On the adjoining valley
Slurries of slush
Crazily flowing
Icy water
Carrying in suspension
Ice particles
In all shapes and sizes
Like cells in serum
Flowing in blood vessels
Except cold
Icily, freezing, cold
It also carries
Stone and rock particles
Coarse sediments
Of all shapes and sizes
Water too fast, too powerful
For them to settle down yet
The pervasive cold
Oppresses you from outside
Insinuates inside
And freezes you thoroughly
Both from the outside and within
Until you become frozen
First solid, then brittle
An icicle
In spring meltdown
Then the water
Flowing around you
And all the particles in suspension
Abrade you like sandpaper
Eat at you
Bit by bit
Until you disintegrate completely
Into your elemental particles
That are carried away by the stream
In a slurry of slush
